The RANGER consortium is proud to announce that along with its partner NATO Science and Technology Organization Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (STO-CMRE) are organising a workshop to present and discuss advanced technologies, innovative concepts, and emerging scientific challenges with respect to current and future Maritime Situational Awareness (MSA) operational needs. MSAW 2019 foresees productive collaboration and synergistic discussion among MSA specialists from technical and non-technical areas. The workshop is going to be held on 8-10th October 2019 in Lerici (La Spezia), Italy.
RANGER partners from Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) attended the 12th German Microwave Conference (GeMiC 2019), an annual event that provides a unique platform to exchange with experts and to meet colleagues from industry, research institutes, and universities.

On the 7th of February 2019 the RANGER project partners met in Brussels, Belgium for the 2nd review meeting. The coordinator and project partners provided an in-depth update of the progress of the action and presented the work that was performed in each work package, highlighting the major achievements and results.

The 1st RANGER Pilot has been successfully realized on the 16th of October 2018 in the marine area between Cap Bear and Ain-en-Provence in France.
It was the first time that the integrated RANGER platform and its main features were tested and evaluated in full scale.

In the occasion of the 23rd CCN Workshop, which was held from 30th of July to 2nd of August 2018 at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), RANGER partners from TUD Niko Joram and Adrian Figueroa delivered two presentations related to the RANGER project.

Two papers entitled “Belief Propagation Based AIS/Radar Data Fusion for Multi-Target Tracking” and “Online Estimation of Unknown Parameters in Multisensor-Multitarget Tracking: a Belief Propagation Approach” were presented by RANGER partner NATO – CMRE at the 21st International Conference on Information Fusion (FUSION), on 10-13 July 2018 in Cambridge, UK.

A general overview of the RANGER project was presented in the annual FRONTEX Workshop on EU funded security projects by the project’s coordinator Mr. Dimitris Katsaros on the 14th of June 2018 on Warsaw, Poland.
