Expected Impact

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]RANGER foresees to significantly overcome the limitations of current border surveillance systems at sea, particularly concerning the detection and tracking of small unseaworthy vessels by developing, validating and demonstrating an OTH Radar that detects and tracks small vessels over a distance of approximately 150 Nm. On top of this, RANGER platform will extend the tracking capabilities of the already existing top of niche OTH Stradivarius Radar, by combining it with another breakthrough technology as it is the photonic distributed MIMO Radar. The fused outcome of both novel radar systems will increase the overall system’s accuracy with respect to the position and the number of the detected targets while the introduction of Deep machine learning techniques for Automatic Target Recognition and correlation with existing AIS and LRIT will minimize false positives in the tracking capabilities of RANGER system.
